Decomposing Medical Mask Project

PROBLEM:
In detail, water pollution has increased greatly with the contribution of the pandemic, which has shown its effect in recent years and many diseases arised from this problem which are cholera, amoebiasis, and dysentery. The reason behind giving these exact diseases as example is not only limited to their vital importance, but also a personal experience. So here it is, Turkey was struggling with an epidemic that caused people to vomit. It was learned that this epidemic, which was cholera disease, was caused by the very rapid reproduction of bacteria in the sewage waters of the city. Just in the middle of that apocalyptic situation, a boy completely unaware of the events around him was born  in a military hospital. As you can imagine, that was me. At those time, I was always good-humored and cheerful no matter what happened outside of that small tucked-in old room. Referring to a common truth, moral and the psychology of the patient is the best defender for the immune system. With that said, my grin might have had a small effect on my mom, who was perfect roommate, getting over the epidemic without getting infected. As years passed, the colera problem nearly vanished but opened a gate for new diseases to break out. they are not the only things that those years changed, besides, my way of thinking has changed with those years.

PROJECT:
I was endeavoring to take load on my back to solve to problem. I was fulfilling this responsibility through projects. In one of those projects, as a team of 5 (special thanks to my friends; Ali Behram GUMUS, Behram Berat YEL, Diyar KARABULUT, and Nehir YEL), we aimed to reduce the contaminated water problem caused by the medical masks. More details to follow, the problem of water pollution in the seas has become a global disaster in the beginning of twenty-twenty one in turkey. Unfortunately, the actions taken to clean the water showed us that among the pollutants collected in the seas, medical masks came first. Due to this disaster, a quarter of the fish population in the Marmara Sea was damaged.
Therefore, I started to design a project. The main foundations of the project are to obtain yarn from polyvinyl alcohol , which has a water-soluble structure and does not leave any harmful substances when dissolved, and to give that yarn a mask shape. Being polypron-based normally, replacement of the usual medical masks with the ones I have designed may contribute to reduce the environmental problem by preventing pollution and not causing any harm to the water ecosystem with its environmental friend components.
